According to IMD, heavy rains are very likely to occur in Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa and Gujarat areas over the next 2-3 days; northeastern regions of India like Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are likely to receive heavy rainfall till Sunday.
The weather agency said heavy rainfall is also likely in West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand till tomorrow.
The national capital region recorded heavy rains with hail in some areas the previous day, bringing needed relief from the heat.
On the other hand, a dust storm with strong winds affected traffic, Delhi Metro and flights; uprooted trees were also reported in several areas of the city and its suburbs.
