The Bolivarian government issued a warning “against the advance of extractivism driven by greed” as the world commemorates International Biodiversity Day this Thursday, whose theme for 2025 is “Harmony with Nature and Sustainable Development.”
On his Telegram account, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil emphasized that nature conservation “is not only essential for ecological balance, but also for sustainable development and the survival of future generations.”
Since December 8, 2000, the United Nations has promoted International Biodiversity Day, and two years later, on May 22, 2002, this global day began to be celebrated.
One of its objectives is to inform and create greater understanding and awareness about this vital issue for the survival of humanity.
