The station, located on Russian territory, was attacked last February 17 by several unmanned aerial vehicles loaded with explosives and shrapnel, and as a result, the facility, one of the consortium’s most important, was damaged and put out of service.
This Friday, after a series of restoration works, the Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station was put into operation, COC told the press.
With a capacity to transport 83 million tons of crude oil annually, the COC pipeline is the largest export route for Kazakh oil to world markets.
The 1,500-kilometer pipeline connects Kazakhstan’s oil fields with a marine terminal on Russia’s Black Sea coast.
COC brings together Russia’s Transneft (with 24% of the shares), Kazakhstan’s KazMunayGas (19%), US Chevron (15), and another Russian company, Lukoil (12,5%), among others.
