The military institution announced on its official Telegram channel that this was the third consecutive day that the Ukrainian military forces attempted a massive drone strike on Russia’s southwestern regions, including the city of Moscow.
The Defense Ministry specified that although this time the number of attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) was slightly lower than the Wednesday and Thursday strikes, they did attempt to attack 12 Russian provinces.
The military institution stated that 24 drones were intercepted over the Moscow region; 22 over the Republic of Crimea; 18 over the Tula province; 11 over Kursk; eight over Bryansk; eight others over Oriol; six over Ryazan; five over Kaluga; three over Belgorod; three more over Ivanovo; one over Voronezh; and one more over Lipetsk.
Lipetsk Oblast Governor Igor Artamonov informed that eight people were injured by the drone crash, and a subsequent fire in the industrial zone of the city of Yelets.
The national air transport agency, Rosaviatsia, reported that temporary flight restrictions were imposed during the last day at the airports of Ivanovo, Kaluga, Kostroma, Tambov, Yaroslav, Vnukovo, and Zhukovsky, the latter two in Moscow.
The Russian provinces bordering Ukraine, such as Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Voronezh, and the Republic of Crimea, regularly report shelling, drone strikes, and other attacks from across the border, forcing the population to seek shelter elsewhere.
