During his mid-week interview with Trump at the White House, Ramaphosa had to listen to allegations of murder of whites by blacks to dispossess them of their property.
Without losing his phlegmatic mood, the South African leader claimed to be unaware of the facts and delegated to white members of his delegation the response to Trump’s formulations based on press releases lacking official confirmation.
Strictly speaking, the statements had already been denied by experts and human rights organizations in the African country, which considered them unfounded.
But the most convincing testimonies came from Ernie Els and Retief Goosen, two golf stars and members of the presidential delegation, who denied the information and, together with other members of the delegation, presented a true picture of the situation in their country.
Everything indicates that the South African head of State was aware of the intentions of his American host and took them into account when integrating the group of personalities and officials who accompanied him on his visit to the United States.
