After exercising his right to vote in the state of Monagas, the secretary general of the United Socialist Party emphasized that despite the rain, the country ‟is voting in peace and harmony.”
He commented that he visited several polling stations in Maturin, the capital of Monagas, and in all of them ‟there are lines and movement of people voting.”
Cabello called this election day a celebration in all states, including Guayana Esequiba for the first time, calling it “a great achievement for the nation that Venezuela is electing a governor” for that territory.
He stated that every time there are elections, the people go out to vote, despite the terrible campaigns, and the best lesson “we can teach is to go out and vote massively,” he expressed.
The Venezuelan politician asserted that no one can stop these people, not even blockades, sanctions, or persecutions, “because when they decide to be free, there’s no way to stop them, there’s no way,” he added.
This is a people determined to exercise their own sovereignty, he noted, and emphasized that in this type of event, “participation has always been very good.”
