The 46th ASEAN Summit opened in this capital on Monday with a call to strengthen regional cooperation, inclusiveness, and sustainability.
Malaysia took over in 2025 the presidency of the regional bloc, also consisting of Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Brunei, and Myanmar.
Leaders from all member states and other guests attended the event.
The May 27 agenda includes the 2nd ASEAN-GCC Summit and the 1st ASEAN-GCC-China Summit at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center.
Li arrived in this capital on an invitation from Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The Chinese premier was welcomed by Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook and Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia, Ouyang Yujing, among other officials, at the international airport.
