Vietnam and France sign five cooperation agreements

Hanoi, May 26 (Prensa Latina) Five cooperation agreements were signed at the end of official talks between the presidents of Vietnam, Luong Cuong, and France, Emmanuel Macron, who paid a state visit to the Indochinese country.

A letter of intent on strengthening cooperation in the field of defense equipments was signed by French Minister of the Armed Forces, Sebastien Lecornu, and his Vietnamese counterpart, General Phan Van Giang.

Interior Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra and French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati also signed a letter of intent in the field of archives, while Vietnamese Minister of Justice Nguyen Hai Ninh and French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet signed a bilateral cooperation plan for the period 2025-2026. As for Vietnamese Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy and Director General of the French Development Agency Remy Rioux signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in these areas for the period 2025-2030.

Meanwhile, Vietnamese Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh and Rioux inked a letter of intent to promote bilateral cooperation in the field of transportation.

Also today, the French president was received at the headquarters of the Central Committee by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam, who also accompanied him on a tour of the emblematic Temple of Literature in Hanoi, one of the oldest historical vestiges in the country.

In the Khue Van Cac Pavilion of the heritage complex, built in 1070, To Lam explained to the visitor and their companions the origin and symbolic value of this structure, considered an icon of the Temple of Literature and of the ancient capital, Thang Long – Hanoi.

To Lam and Emmanuel Macron also planted a friendship tree and toured the memorial site dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh.
