Okudzeto Ablakwa said the actions are the result of a special audit initiated two months ago to investigate alleged corrupt practices at the Ghanaian embassy in the United States.
The information came to light in a statement issued the day before by the Foreign Ministry in Accra, which added that the embassy will be closed until the situation is fully reviewed.
Apparently, an embassy official created a private link on the embassy’s website, through which he sold visas privately for large personal profits.
It was also reported that these criminals had been operating this way for nearly five years, using various visa sales fees, which generated significant profits.
