The confirmation is surfacing today in the press following Kennedy’s meeting last night with the Minister of Health, Mario Lugones, who also announced a reform to the health system that will involve a structural transformation deregulating the current health scheme.
Lugones and Kennedy, who is meeting with President Javier Milei this Tuesday, reiterated their criticism of the WHO and COVID vaccines, according to several media outlets.
The Argentine minister stated on social media that “the U.S. Secretary of Health expressed huge interest in the deregulation of social security, prepaid and biosimilar insurance plans that we promoted during our administration, as well as the implementation of electronic prescriptions throughout the country and the streamlining of the system.”
The official added that Kennedy Jr. “told us about some similar problems they have in the United States, a government that spends inefficiently on the healthcare system because it doesn’t generate positive results for citizens.”
In what is seen as an alignment between Milei’s health policies and those of Trump’s, Lugones described the exchange as “very enriching,” stating: “We shared views and defined possible lines of joint work. We have much to explore and accomplish.”
The U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires emphasized that the meeting represented “a further step in the enhancement of a solid and long-lasting relationship” between the two countries.
