We will not allow Ukraine to be admitted to the EU without considering Hungarians’ opinions, Szijjarto said after recalling that a national referendum on this issue is currently being held in the country.
The radio station reported that the online and postal vote will last until mid-June, and Budapest intends to take its results into account in consultations with Brussels.
The minister confirmed that the Hungarian government is against Ukraine’s rushed acceptance into the European Community.
According to the top diplomat, the Hungarian government has no intention of spending money in Ukraine or letting in the Ukrainian mafia. It will not yield to pressure from EU leaders, who seek to accept it quickly into the community and, at the same time, drag all European countries into an armed conflict.
