In a speech in Port Sudan the day before, Idris stated that Sudanese security forces are eliminating the rebellion by the RSF and its allied militias, and urged the countries that support them to cease their operations.
The Sudanese government has accused the United Arab Emirates, Chad, Libya, and South Sudan of supporting the RSF during the conflict.
Since mid-April 2023, this African nation has been caught up in an internal war, after power struggles between Army Chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the leader of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, whcih sadly have intensified.
The fighting has already destroyed countless livelihoods, plunging the country into a complex spiral of hunger and death.
