Marles, who is also Australia’s defense minister, met with his counterpart, Rajnath Singh, in New Delhi on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Singh briefed the visitor on the challenges facing the country on the western front, most notably the heinous terrorist attack last April in Pahalgam, Kashmir, which led to Operation Sindoor against neighboring Pakistan in early May.

Earlier, Australia’s deputy prime minister received a Guard of Honor at the capital’s Manekshaw Center; the senior official also laid a wreath at Delhi’s National War Memorial.
