In a statement, the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions informed that the Indian candidacy received wide support from all members, with 87 out of 141 votes.
The portfolio explained that India is a member of IIAS through its Department of Administrative Reforms; and highlighted that the international institution maintains a close working relationship with the United Nations.
The International Institute of Administrative Sciences is a federation of 31 member countries, 20 national sections and 15 academic research centers that collaborate in scientific research on public administration.
It participates in the Committee of Experts on Public Administration and the United Nations Public Administration Network, among other multilateral platforms.
