According to the state news agency ACNC, Kim promised that Pyongyang will fully comply with the provisions of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty signed with Moscow, upon receiving the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Sergey Shoigu, who is on a working visit.
On the occasion, the General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea expressed his conviction that Russia “will prevail in the sacred and just cause of safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
For his part, Shoigu stood out that ‟the best soldiers of the DPRK people participated in the Battle of Kursk Province, and fought shoulder to shoulder with Russian soldiers in the same trenches, and defended a valuable part of Russian territory as if they were defending their own homeland.”
The Secretary of the Russian Security Council conveyed to Kim greetings from President Vladimir Putin and ‟the special gratitude” of his country’s leaders for “the incomparable courage and spirit of sacrifice of the North Korean military.”
The parties thoroughly discussed important issues related to the further development of the special and solid DPRK-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership, the safeguarding of fundamental common interests, and cooperation between the two countries in various areas, ACNC reported.
