Russian security reports about blast on railway track in Voronezh

Moscow, June 5 (Prensa Latina) A railway track was damaged in Voronezh province due to the detonation of an explosive device, the Federal Security Service (FSB) reported.

The agency stated that, as a result of the detonation of an explosive device just before a train was due to pass, a railway track was damaged in the Voronezh region, but thanks to the driver’s quick reaction, a derailment was avoided and human casualties were prevented.

The FSB also stated that it was important for the driver and train personnel to detect the damage to the track in time and activate the emergency brake.

Authorities are currently investigating all the details of the incident and have begun an inspection of the site.

Initial indications justify the opening of a criminal case on charges of “terrorism,” the FSB stated.

Russian Railways reported that at least 26 passenger trains were delayed due to damage to one of the railway tracks on the Evdakovo-Saguni section in Voronezh Province.

This is not the first attack on Russian rail infrastructure in recent days.

On the night of May 31 to June 1, in Bryansk Oblast, bordering Ukraine, a car bridge collapsed as passenger train No. 86 Klimov-Moscow was passing underneath.
