According to the Kazakh military body, residents of the country’s capital noticed strange luminous objects in the sky, similar to those observed last year in Almaty, Taldykorgan and Konayev, adding that no airspace violations were recorded in the territory of Kazakhstan.
The military ministry noted that this phenomenon is similar to the entry into the atmosphere of spacecraft debris or a meteor stream, which usually completely disintegrate in the dense layers of the atmosphere.
The Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, for its part clarified that, according to international organizations that monitor space debris, three events were recorded during this period that could have caused a similar effect.
In this regard, it mentioned the upper stage of the Chinese ZQ-2E rocket, the STARLINK-1631 satellite (SpaceX) and the upper stage of the Japanese H-2A R/B rocket.
The ministry emphasized that large objects almost always burn up in the atmosphere and do not pose a threat to citizens.
