Russian air defense repels new massive Ukrainian drone attack

Moscow, Jun 6 (Prensa Latina) The air defense systems repelled a new massive Ukrainian attack drones that targeted 13 Russian southwestern regions, the Defense Ministry informed on Friday.

The military institution announced on its official Telegram channel that the air defense has foiled a new massive Ukrainian attack using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the Bryansk, Rostov, Saratov, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Oryol, Ryazan, Tula, Belgorod, Tambov, and Moscow regions, and the Republic of Crimea.

The Defense Ministry also reported that three Neptun-MD anti-ship missiles were intercepted over the Black Sea.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said the air defense systems shot down 10 UAVs flying towards the country’s capital.

Meanwhile, the Russian air transport agency, Rosaviatsia, reported that restrictions have been imposed in the last day at the airports of Samara, Saratov, Kaluga, and three of the four Moscow airports (Domodedovo, Vnukovo, and Zhukovsky) due to security reasons.

The Russian provinces bordering Ukraine, such as Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Voronezh, and the Peninsula of Crimea, regularly report shelling, drone strikes, and other attacks from across the border, forcing the population to seek shelter elsewhere.
