Xi wrote in a congratulatory message that both nations have upheld the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and the spirit of Bandung to promote a policy of friendly neighborliness and cooperation.
The president added that the two countries have also provided each other with firm support on issues related to their fundamental interests.
Xi Jinping recalled that both sides reached significant agreements on the joint construction of a community with a shared future between China and Myanmar.
He underscored that Beijing deeply assesses the development of bilateral relations and hopes to promote cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the three global initiatives on development, security, and civilization.
Myanmar’s Prime Minister Min Aung Hlaing, in turn, stated that the Chinese president’s historic visit to that nation in 2020 marked the beginning of a new stage in bilateral relations.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry has repeatedly stated that, as a friendly neighbor, Beijing opposes chaos and conflict in Myanmar, as well as external interference in the country’s internal affairs.
