New attack on Venezuela’s electrical system

Caracas, June 9 (Prensa Latina) The Venezuelan Ministry of Electric Energy denounced what it called a cowardly attack on four transmission towers, located between the La Arenosa substation and the Termocarabobo Power Plant, in the northeastern state of Carabobo, according to news reports.

In a statement released last night, the entity declared that the new attack “seeks to affect national peace.”

The National Electric Corporation (CEN) workers acted with commitment and remain deployed to address this situation, carrying out the necessary work to restore the infrastructure affected by this attack in record time, it stated.

It said that in coordination with state security agencies, they began an “exhaustive investigation to identify the masterminds and perpetrators, capture them, and bring them under the law, as demanded by the Venezuelan people.”

The message, on behalf of the national government, stated that “in the face of systematic aggression, Venezuela responds with hard work and utmost loyalty to our sovereignty.”

Those who yesterday tried to suffocate us with criminal blockades today resort to terror to divide us, but they underestimate the rebellious nature of this people, heirs to the glories of the liberators, he noted.

He stated that with high morale, they will continue advancing “toward a robust, efficient electrical system at the service of the Venezuelan people.”
