The agreement, signed by Cuba’s National Council of Cultural Heritage (CNPC) and Zimbabwe’s Ministry of the Institute of African Knowledge (INSTAK), outlines joint diplomatic and political efforts to support the museum’s creation. It also facilitates the exchange of heritage professionals and artifacts for temporary exhibitions.
Additionally, both parties will collaborate on developing archives and inventories of Intangible Cultural Heritage manifestations, working toward shared heritage recognition.
CNPC President Sonia Virgen Pérez Mojena highlighted that the memorandum will enable the donation of Cuban Cultural Heritage pieces from various institutions, including the *Casa de África* and the *Museo del Esclavo Rebelde (Museum of the Rebel Slave)*, to enrich the new museum.
For its part, INSTAK will involve the CNPC in technical planning for the Cuban pavilion’s museological and museographic design, among other commitments.
Pérez Mojena noted that the agreement has also encouraged broader cultural cooperation, with other sectors expressing interest in joining the initiative. She made the remarks during a press briefing at the CNPC headquarters in Havana shortly after the signing ceremony.
