Under the name AFROMADRID 2025, the event will address current racism, hate regimes, and authoritarianism, Pan-Africanism, the ideological construction of racial segregation, and establishing a development fund for people of African descent.
Restorative justice, the challenges of women of African descent, or inclusive public policies, with the active participation of civil society, international organizations, and governments, will be other issues for the participants to address.
The Conference’s theme will be “People of African Descent: Strength for Social Transformation. Recognition and Restorative Justice,” and will include 200 prominent figures, and international organizations, academicians, and activists.
Doudou Diene, president of Afromadrid’s scientific committee, stressed that the meeting will work to build a multicultural society in which people of African descent are not conceived as victims, but as a transforming force.
The Conference is sponsored by the African-Spanish Association, consisting of Active Africa, Movement Against Intolerance, the Anna Perenna Women of the World, and Esport Solidari, and the Equality Ministry.
