At the event taking place at the Palacio de las Convenciones, Alonso urged the delegates to consider the role of economic science professionals in the face of current economic challenges and their necessary proposals to the country’s leadership.
Among them, the minister mentioned the need for proposals on mechanisms to circumvent the blockade and reduce its impact on the economy to eliminate it, measures and actions to strengthen tax discipline and tax sale, identify inefficient subsidies, and promote measures to eliminate them.
Measures to increase the efficiency of investment processes, promote innovative methods and ways to strengthen public-private partnerships, and increase the dissemination of the ANEC-Conecta Platform to include supplies and demands for local inputs and products, which are not adequately used. Alonso highlighted the importance of modeling the social impacts of any policy and possible mitigation actions, drawing on the collective intelligence and resilience demonstrated during the 67 years of the Revolution.
