In a statement, the diplomat described the aggression as a sign of Israel’s “desperation and fear” in the face of Iran’s growing strength.
According to Velayati, the incursions occurred immediately after an anti-Iranian resolution by the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and just before the sixth round of nuclear negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
In Velayati’s assessment, this criminal act reveals that the United States and Europe are two sides of the same coin, aligned with the crimes of the illegitimate Zionist regime.
At the same time, he warned that the followers of the Islamic Revolution, under the leadership of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, would teach Israel a “historic lesson.”
According to the Tasnim news agency, the Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the Swiss ambassador in Tehran, in her capacity as head of the US Interests Section, and conveyed its strongest condemnation and protest against the Israeli aggression, as well as against the White House’s support for it.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized that Israel’s aggression against nuclear facilities and the killing of university professors, senior military officials, and innocent women and children is a flagrant violation of international law.
The top diplomatic authority stressed, “We expect that the international community, especially the European Union, will condemn this criminal attack.”
Araghchi reiterated that Iran’s response to the Israeli regime’s attack will be decisive and definitive.
In the early hours of Friday, Israel launched an attack against the Islamic Republic, killing senior military officials, nuclear scientists, and civilians, including Chief of Staff Mohammad Baqeri and Revolutionary Guard Corps Commander Hossein Salami.
