On Thursday, London-bound flight AI-171 with 242 people on board, including two pilots and 10 crew members, crashed in a populated area in Meghani Nagar, near Ahmedabad airport in the coastal state of Gujarat.

Among the passengers 169 were Indian nationals, 53 British, one Canadian and seven Portuguese nationals.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation of the Asian nation informed that one survivor was found with minor injuries, identified as Vishwas Kumar Ramesh, of British nationality, while the injured were taken to the nearest hospitals.

It was also known that former Chief Minister of the Gujarat region, Vijay Rupani, died in the incident.
