The confrontation has left at least four injured in the last hours in the township of Pueblo Nuevo and two arrested in Alto del Valle.
The confrontations continued until midnight in the districts of Chiriqui Grande and Almirante, where residents keep the National Police installations surrounded.
So far, closures persist in the communities of Cañaza, Pueblo Nuevo, Malí and Alto del Valle.
After the entry of anti-riot agents to the eminently touristic territory, new closures have also been reported at the bridge over the Changuinola river, as well as in front of the offices of the Ministry of Labor and the fire station in the township of Empalme. The province of Bocas del Toro has had more than 40 days of protests and road closures. The day before, the Government launched Operation Omega, a strategic police operation directly ordered by President José Raúl Mulino to recover free vehicle circulation in that territory.
