Quoted by the Turkish news agency Anadolu, Unicef spokesman James Elder warned that the situation is worsening every day as a result of Israel’s aggression and blockade.
The humanitarian situation in the coastal enclave is “grim, horrible and desperate,” he stressed.
The official warned that Gazans are living hard nights under bombardment as they spend their days fleeing starvation and explosions.
The world seems concerned only with seeing the wounded and talking about aid, but ignores the enormous psychological burden on the population as families are repeatedly forced to flee after losing everything, he said.
Elder said that many families have been living in tents for months under tank fire and are now being forced to move again.
He revealed that mothers go two days without tasting food just to be able to give their children a meal.
