The senior diplomat, who commented for the TASS news agency on Israel’s attacks on Iran, reiterated that there is no alternative to dialogue, and that is why Moscow insists that it must be a purely political-diplomatic solution to all problems related to the Iranian nuclear program.
Riyabkov stressed that in recent days the tension was quite evident, including publicly. “Of course, everyone paid attention to the Americans’ decision to withdraw, as they usually say, non-essential personnel from military facilities and their families,” he noted.
There was a sense that some action had been in the works for some time. And so it was, he continued.
No matter how much Israel tries to present now that irreparable damage has been done, that the objectives have been achieved, it will end up with a worse security situation than before this action. I do not want to anticipate anything, but the determination of the Iranian side speaks for itself, Riyabkov summed up.
