Two mass graves of war victims discovered in Syria

Damascus, June 16 (Prensa Latina) Syrian authorities announced the discovery of two mass graves containing the remains of more than 40 people killed during the war. Residents of the village of Khirbet al-Suda, in the central province of Homs, discovered a grave containing the remains of 11 people, including two women and seven children, whose bodies date back to 2013.

Meanwhile, the Syrian news channel Ikhbariya reported that a farmer found the 32 bodies, including children, inside a water well on his land in the town of Al-Talisiya, in eastern Hama province.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, since December 2024, 31 mass graves have been discovered containing the remains of 2,744 victims, killed by parties to the conflict that has ravaged Syria since 2011.

The question of the whereabouts of tens of thousands of detainees and those who disappeared during the war is a matter of vital importance to many Syrians.

According to the Syrian Network for Human Rights, the number of detainees and those who have disappeared in the country, after the prisons were emptied, reached 112,414.
