The Hashemite King reiterated Jordan’s firm stance that it will not be a battlefield in any conflict nor tolerate any threat to its security and stability.
The Jordanian monarch also spoke by telephone with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, stressing the urgency of uniting international efforts to halt the conflict and warning of the consequences of Tel Aviv’s aggression for regional security and stability.
In turn, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and European Commission Vice-President and High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas discussed measures to reduce the growing tension in the region.
During a telephone conversation, both officials stressed the urgent need to halt the escalation and resume diplomatic negotiations to reach an agreement on Iran’s nuclear program.
Safadi warned of the serious impacts of the current regional escalation and clarified that efforts to ease tensions between Tehran and Tel Aviv should not divert international attention from the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and urged for the immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza, and to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid through relevant UN agencies.

Amán, 17 jun (Prensa Latina) El rey jordano Abdullah II, llamó a intensificar los esfuerzos para contener la escalada bélica entre Irán y el régimen israelí, y lograr una calma general en la región de Oriente Medio.
De acuerdo con un comunicado de la corte real difundido por la agencia oficial Petra, Abdullah II consideró durante una conversación telefónica con el presidente iraquí Abdul Latif Rashid, que los continuos ataques sionistas contra la nación persa amenazan con expandir el conflicto y desestabilizar la región.
El Rey hachemita reiteró la firme postura de Jordania de que no será campo de batalla en ningún conflicto ni tolerará ninguna amenaza a su seguridad y estabilidad.
El monarca jordano conversó también telefónicamente con el primer ministro griego Kyriakos Mitsotakis, y recalcó la urgencia de aunar esfuerzos internacionales para detener el conflicto y advirtió de las consecuencias de la agresión de Tel Aviv para la seguridad y estabilidad de la Región.
A su vez, el ministro jordano de Asuntos Exteriores, Ayman Safadi, y la vicepresidenta de la Comisión Europea y alta representante para Asuntos Exteriores y Política de Seguridad, Kaja Kallas, abordaron las acciones para reducir la creciente tensión en la región.
