These funds will finance the digital connectivity project, aimed at strengthening the mobile telecommunications infrastructure here with 4G and 5G technology, making the National Electric Transmission Company (Enatrel) the third-largest mobile operator in the country, the Informe Pastrán newsletter reported.
According to the source, the project seeks to expand the coverage and quality of mobile telephone and internet services, promoting technological inclusion and reducing the digital divide.
It added that the initiative is aligned with the National Plan to Combat Poverty and Promote Human Development 2022-2026, which prioritizes access to telecommunications to boost economic development, human talent development, and progress in vulnerable areas.
According to reports, the project will be developed in two phases: the first will cover urban areas with high demand for mobile services, such as Managua and Ciudad Sandino, while the second will extend to key cities in the departments of Chinandega, León, Masaya, Granada, Carazo, Rivas, Estelí, Matagalpa, Jinotega, Nueva Segovia, Madriz, Boaco, Chontales, and Río San Juan. abo/arm/mem/ybv
