During this closing session, reports were presented on the organization’s strategic objectives regarding strengthening training, promoting ICT, and supporting citizen information on technology and digital banking in the country.
Aspects regarding the growth of members with international certifications were also presented, as well as initiatives in knowledge management, community literacy, and work with people of different age groups in all provinces.
The discussions emphasized on promoting vocational training in technology and computerization from an early age, and to emphasize working with emerging talent at universities.
Yudi Rodriguez, a member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and head of the Service Support Department, highlighted the UIC’s influence on the country’s economic transformation, the advancement of digital banking and e-commerce, and the promotion of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
She emphasized that theory, academia, and practical processes linked to businesses should be better linked, and work should be strengthened from a communication perspective with community engagement and technological literacy, in addition to strengthening the export of IT services.
Advances in digital platforms and improvements in cybersecurity were also discussed, as well as recognizing the limitations the country faces in developing activities related to the sector.
National and international project initiatives and the projection of artificial intelligence and gender laboratories were also mentioned.
