Guevara (1925-2013), who also founded the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, carried out extensive and highly regarded work as a film critic, so this forum, active from June 18 to 29, is dedicated to him.

Entitled “The Exercise of Criticism According to Alfredo Guevara,” the event is part of a comprehensive special program until December 31, the date of Guevara’s 100th birthday. It will be shown at 23 y 12 movie theater, the cultural institution’s usual venue.

The cycle is dedicated to the intellectual’s memory and his cultural and revolutionary thinking.

Several films, which the critic analyzed in diverse cultural media, will be screened, the ICAIC’s Facebook page noted.
