Shoigu’s presence in Pyongyang coincides with the first anniversary of the signing by Kim and Putin of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty that raised bilateral ties to a level unprecedented so far this century.
The deepening of that pact and the contents of recent messages exchanged by the two leaders were among the topics discussed by the also chairman of the DPRK State Affairs Committee and the secretary of the Russian Security Council, KCNA said.
On the basis of a perfect understanding of the situation of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, particularly in the Kursk region, Kim Jong Un determined the contents of the DPRK’s cooperation within the framework of the Treaty and discussed in detail the proposals for necessary cooperation, he said.
