Alexei Likhachev, Director General of the Russian state corporation ROSATOM, and Burkina Faso’s Minister of Energy, Mines, and Quarries, Yacouba Zabre, signed the document, the Organizing Committee of the 28th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2025) told reporters.
The preliminary text of the agreement, previously made public, states that cooperation between the two countries will include, among other aspects, assistance in the construction of nuclear power plants, research reactors, and the provision of services related to the nuclear fuel cycle for nuclear power plants.
SPIEF 2025 is taking place in St. Petersburg, northern Russia, from June 18 to 21. The Roscongress agency, attached to the Russian President’s office, organized the event.
