The appointment of the new cabinet announced last May by the resident of the Sovereign Transitional Council, General Abdel Fattah al Burhan, co-protagonist with former ally General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, warlord of the Rapid Support Force (RSF) militia of the civil war that has been devastating this country since April 2023.

He admitted that the ministerial council will include members of the Ministries of Defense and Interior, but without regard to ethnic considerations or the quota system in force until now in the country.

The conflict between the CST and the RSF caused the largest refugee crisis in history, 14 million displaced persons and the death of some 24,000 people, mostly civilians.
