In a statement, the Network revealed that Israeli troops entered the town of Hamidieh, backed by heavy machinery, without warning, causing tension and panic among the local population.
It was confirmed that Tel Aviv military demolished at least 15 civilian homes, claiming they were located near a newly established Israeli military base in the demilitarized zone.
The organization noted that several of these homes were inhabited before their residents were forcibly evicted following the establishment of the aforementioned military post.
The Network expressed concern that these operations could hamper the Syrian authorities’ ability to restore security and services, as Zionist troops carry out frequent ground incursions into the provinces of Quneitra, Daraa, and Damascus – countryside-, where they commit several violations such as the destruction of agricultural land, the detention of farmers and civilians, and the confiscation of livestock.
In the week following the overthrow of President Bashar al-Assad on December 8, 2024, Israeli aircraft launched approximately 500 airstrikes against military installations, destroying nearly the entire arsenal of the former Syrian army.
Despite repeated statements by the current authorities in Damascus that Syria would not pose a threat to neighboring countries, including Israel’s security, Israel has not ceased ground attacks on military facilities, in addition to conducting ground incursions, which have resulted in the deaths of civilians.
