Hungary favors establishing peace in Middle East

Budapest, Jun 23 (Prensa Latina) Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto stated on Monday that his country opposes the escalation in the Middle East and supports negotiations for a peaceful solution to the situation in the region.

Hungary is interested in establishing peace in the Middle East as soon as possible, and all its inhabitants have the opportunity to live in peace and safety, Szijjarto wrote on social media. He emphasized that the situation in the region has a direct impact on European security.

The foreign minister noted that we agree to avoid an escalation in military and nuclear security matters. We hope that peace talks will begin as soon as possible.

The head of Hungarian diplomacy stated that he had previously held phone conversations with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Szijjarto also discussed the situation in the Middle East with his colleagues from Israel, Bahrain, and Jordan.

The United States attacked several Iranian nuclear facilities early Sunday, an act condemned by many nations globally.
