Entitled “For Decent Work and Sustainable Social Development,” the Labor and Social Security Ministry (MTSS), the Center for Labor Studies, and the Cuban Social Labor Observatory organized the event.
Organizers announced that the meeting features workshops on Human Capital Management, Employment, and Social Security; Prevention and Social Work; and Science and Innovation for Transformation.
Issues of interest to the Cuban population, such as teleworking, gender perspective in public policies, and social inclusion, will be discussed.
Maybely Veliz, Director General of Development at MTSS, stated that an estimated 32 academic spaces will be held, and 240 delegates, including 10 university students, chosen from across the country, are expected to participate in the Symposium.
Attendees include students, academicians, researchers, social workers, economic stakeholders, and officials from several organizations.
Maria Teresa Caballero, a member of the organizing committee, noted that this event, the first of its kind, will establish guidelines for adopting policies that support the search for science-based solutions to social problems.
