The Havana-based Cuban Association of the United Nations (ACNU) will open the exhibition “Milestones along the Way: 80 Years of Cuba and the UN” this Thursday afternoon, the organizers told Prensa Latina.
Attendees could reminisce about or discover significant events in Cuba through the photos that will be on display at that cultural institution until July 26.
The so-called October Missile Crisis, debates in the Security Council, and several votes at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) against the United States’ economic blockade against the island are some of the events captured by several photographers.
According to the exhibition’s promotional poster, “the display offers a graphic look at eight decades of shared challenges and achievements.”
The ACNU aims to invite people to reflect and imagine a future where cooperation, equality among nations, and human dignity are the compass for building a better world.
