The military institution announced on its official Telegram channel that 17 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were intercepted over the Peninsula of Crimea, 16 over Rostov; 11 over the Sea of Azov; five over Kursk; four over Saratov; three over the Black Sea; two over Belgorod; one over Voronezh; and one over Oryol.
The national air transport agency, Rosaviatsia, informed that temporary operational restrictions have been imposed again at the airports of Ulyanovsk, Saratov, Kazan, and Nizhnekamsk to ensure the safety of civil aircraft flights.
Since the beginning of the special military operation on February 24, 2024, drone attacks launched from Ukraine on military and civilian targets in the Russian rear have become common practice.
The Russian provinces bordering Ukraine, such as Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Voronezh, and the Peninsula of Crimea, regularly report shelling, drone strikes, and other attacks from across the border, forcing the population to seek shelter elsewhere.
