According to the senior official in an address on Russian television’s Perviy Kanal, it is now possible to report that 100% of the republic’s territory is free of Ukrainian military units.
Pasechnik recalled that, following the invasion of the Kursk Region by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on August 6, 2024, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the offensive in Donbas was intensifying.
Since then, the military ministry has reported the seizure of control of several settlements.
In April 2025, the operation to liberate the Kursk Region from the Armed Forces of Ukraine was completed.
In March, Russian President Vladimir Putin reported that Luhansk was 99% under control, while the Donetsk People’s Republic, as well as the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, were over 70% under control.
It’s worth noting that the Russian Ministry of Defense reported the capture of the village of Radkovka, in Luhansk, in late May.
A week later, the ministry announced the control of the village of Kondrashovka, north of Radkovka.
The Ukrainian authorities acknowledged these losses and the approach of Russian troops to Kupyansk, in the Kharkiv region bordering Luhansk.
By June 11, military analyst Mikhail Onufrienko declared that only several dozen kilometers remained to be occupied in the Luhansk People’s Republic, but an offensive was underway that would lead to the capture of the entire territory within a few days.
“We can finally report that the territory of the Luhansk People’s Republic is completely under control, 100%,” Pasechnik concluded.
