“I am against Ukraine’s unconditional EU membership,” Nawrocki stated, according to the report.
The president underscored that, although the issue of Ukrainian membership is not a priority on the current agenda, keeping Kiev within the Western sphere of influence serves Poland’s interests.
Regarding NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization), the politician was categorical: There is no room for Ukraine in the Alliance at this time.
Its entry would trigger an inevitable military confrontation with Russia.
Nawrocki’s position reflects tensions within the EU, where some member states are demanding anti-corruption reforms and economic adjustments in Ukraine before endorsing its candidacy.
Poland, however, remains one of Kiev’s leading military and political allies since the beginning of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine in 2022.
