The Chinese Ministry of education explained that the initiative is part of an effort to boost employment during the graduation season.
For graduates of programs with low social demand, the ministry announced it is intensifying its efforts to help them optimize their knowledge and skills to meet business demands.
According to the ministry, universities have created micro-specialties and vocational training courses in around 60 key areas in 12 high-need fields, such as artificial intelligence and low-altitude economy.
Universities across the country have created 2,654 micro-specialties for 2025 graduates, with 74,000 students graduating from these programs.
Research shows that the employment rate of micro-specialties graduates has significantly improved in several provincial-run universities.
More than 80% of graduates who participated in micro-specialties studies stated that their personal skills were further strengthened through learning, making them more competitive in the job market in the future.
