Previously, Sefcovic had said through social networks that he was concluding a productive working week in Washington.
There he met with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.
He noted that the goal remains the same: a good and ambitious transatlantic trade agreement, the Slovak commissioner said.
For now, the United States applies tariffs of 10 percent on all products from the EU and 25 percent on imports of steel, aluminum and vehicles, but U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to raise these surcharges to 50 percent.
