During a meeting in the Azerbaijani city of Khankendi on the occasion of his participation in the Economic Cooperation Organization Summit, the prime minister reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to continue working closely with Iran for peace in the region through talks and diplomacy, reported Associated Press of Pakistan.
In the meeting, the two dignitaries reviewed the ongoing bilateral cooperation in all fields and expressed satisfaction over the progress made on the decisions taken during their last meeting to further strengthen relations between the two countries, according to APP.
They also discussed development in the regional situation as a result of Israel’s illegitimate aggression against Iran and praised Tehran’s decision to reach a ceasefire during the recent crisis, the news source stressed.
Meanwhile, Pezeshkian appreciated Pakistan’s strong diplomatic support for Iran, including in international forums, and its role in defusing the conflict.
