According to Roslesojrana’s note, published this Saturday on its Telegram page, during the last 24 hours firefighters and volunteer corps managed to extinguish forest fires covering an area of 17 thousand 915 hectares.

There are currently 31 active outbreaks in an area of 13,913 hectares in various parts of the country, a much smaller area than in previous days. The most affected area is no longer Transbaikalia, but Buryatia, located in southern Siberia, with 13 fires in an area of 12,370 hectares.

The Buryatia Forestry Department said that more than 620 people and 72 firefighting teams are involved in extinguishing the flames, which do not threaten populated areas.
