This position was announced in a statement released by SANA news agency following a series of meetings held in Damascus between government representatives and delegates of the Syrian Democratic Forces – an alliance led by Kurdish fighters.

The document reaffirmed Damascus’s commitment to a unified Syria under a single Army and a single Government.

It underscored that it will not accept any political scheme that weakens national cohesion.

The only acceptable path to a solution is the one that strengthens the country’s unity, the text stated.

It also highlighted the State’s willingness to integrate SDF members into the ranks of the Syrian Army, considered by the authorities to be the national institution that unites all citizens.
