India and UAE take new steps to strengthen economic cooperation

New Delhi, Jul 11 (Prensa Latina) Entrepreneurs from India and United Arab Emirates (UAE) today assessed opportunities to strengthen joint cooperation through a platform to further boost cross-border trade and market access collaboration.

At an event in Mumbai, India’s financial capital, related to the Comprehensive Economic Partnership (CEPA), entrepreneurs were promoted to participate in the newly launched UAE-India CEPA Start-up Series, according to a statement quoted by ANI news agency.

Abdulnasser Alshaali, UAE ambassador to India, reaffirmed his country’s vision of fostering agile and innovative collaboration between the two nations and highlighted the South Asian nation’s entrepreneurial dynamism as a key factor in the bilateral partnership.

He highlighted the signing, at the event, of a memorandum of understanding between the ECA-UAE-India Council and the Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE), the technology business incubator of the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Mumbai), ANI noted.

This mechanism formalizes a collaboration to identify and support startups with high potential from the SINE ecosystem and alumni network to participate in the Startup Series.
