Cuba always assesses and wishes to deepen the traditional special relationship and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam, the first deputy minister emphasized upon being received at the Government Office by Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son.
Peñalver, who arrived in this capital on Tuesday to co-chair the 8th Round of Inter-Ministerial Political Consultation and review preparations for the exchange of high-level delegations shortly, also expressed his solidarity and condolences to the Vietnamese people for the recent capsizing of a tourist boat in Ha Long Bay.
Thanh Son, in turn, expressed satisfaction with the fact that the fraternal solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and mutual trust between the two Communist Parties, States, and peoples of Vietnam and Cuba “have been constantly consolidated and developed.”
The Vietnamese deputy prime minister emphasized that high-level agreements are being actively implemented and concrete results are being achieved, especially in the fields of agriculture, biotechnology, and renewable energy, the government-run online newspaper informed.
Thanh Son suggested that both sides continue to promote the implementation of high-level commitments and key cooperation projects between the two countries, and maintain and improve the effectiveness of cooperation mechanisms, consultations, and experience sharing through all channels.
Peñalver’s three-day working visit to Vietnam is part of a tour that began in China on Monday and will conclude in Laos on Friday.
